FlexLight™ LC4500PEM Pattern Expansion Module
The LC4500PEM provides a complete programmable streaming pattern generator for the DLP4500 chipset. Easily create, store, and display high-speed pattern sequences through an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI).
The FlexLight™ LC4500PEM from Keynote Photonics provides an embedded software application that works seamlessly with any DLP4500 chipset and FlexLight™ controller. The add-on ARM Sitara processor and software, which runs on the popular BeagleBone Black platform, provides real-time streaming pattern generation for laser steering applications, and is powerful enough to download a new bit-map file in under a second.
The LC4500PEM is controlled by a graphical user interface supported in Windows 7, OS X, and Linux. The LC4500 uses standard TCP/IP protocol, allowing you to build applications that fit your particular needs.
For applications like 3D printing, which require a high-degree of optical uniformity, you can modify downloaded images on the device using various masks.
The PEM software runs on the BeagleBone Black embedded processor cape interface running under Debian 3.8. Image data is stored locally for fast start-up. Multiple pattern sequences or system mode configurations can be stored and selected by remote commands. Commands may be issued using standard TCP/IP protocol from any host computer via USB or through your network connection.
Future releases of the application will directly support the spectroscopy applications based on the TI NIRscan reference design.
